More than just Pepsi Cola - these brands belong to Pepsi

Pepsi brands can be found on drink menus in restaurants as well as on supermarket shelves. Anyone who buys products from these brands is buying Pepsi products.

Pepsi - one of the largest food manufacturers in the world

Alongside Nestlé, Unilever and its direct competitor Coca-Cola, PepsiCo is one of the largest food manufacturers in the world. In Germany, Coca-Cola dominates the beverage market, as market researchers from IRI determined in 2019. This could suggest, especially in Germany, that Pepsi is far less successful than the competition. But far from it, the American group was able to achieve an increase in sales of ten percent in the first quarter of 2020, since Pepsi is very popular outside of Germany, especially in America. In addition, Pepsi does not generate most of its sales with drinks, as is often assumed, but with snacks such as chips and nachos: According to PepsiCo's 2019 financial report, the company generated 46 percent of its sales with drinks and 54 percent with food.

Pepsi drink brands

Above all, PepsiCo owns the beverage brand Pepsi Cola, which can be found on the beverage menu in various restaurants. If you choose 7Up in the supermarket, you are also buying a Pepsi product, and drinks from Schwip Schwap and Brisk are also part of the Pepsi portfolio. Anyone who likes to get a Lipton ice tea as a refreshment is consciously or unconsciously consuming a Pepsi product. Other Pepsi beverage brands include Aquafina, Mirinda, Mountain View, Sierra Mist, and the Starbucks Bottled Frappuccino. Overall, PepsiCo generates most of its net sales from its beverages in North America.

Finger food also belongs to Pepsi

In addition to PepsiCo's drinks, finger food is Pepsi's second major source of income. Under the Frito-Lay division, PepsiCo sells chips and crackers, including Lay's namesake chips and Fritos. In addition to Lay's Chips and Fritos, Pepsi's snack portfolio includes the finger food brands Tostitos, Doritos, Cheetos, Ruffles and Walkers. In North America, the Frito-Lay division accounted for a quarter of total net sales in 2019.

Breakfast with Pepsi - cereals make it possible

The Quaker Oats brand has a history that goes back over 140 years and has belonged to PepsiCo since 2000. The company mainly earns its money with products made from oatmeal, but other cereals such as Life Cereals or Multigran Flakes are also part of the Quaker Oats range, as are snacks such as muesli bars.

Interesting to know: Pepsi formerly owned the largest fast food group

PepsiCo is the former owner of the largest quick-service restaurant group in the world. PepsiCo once bought fast food chains KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell and bundled them under the PepsiCo International Restaurant group of companies. In the late 1990s, PepsiCo took this group of companies public, today it is called Yum! Brands and is the largest fast food restaurant group in the world.
